The History of Middle Temple
What is so special about Middle Temple, anyway?
For starters, it is one of the four ancient Inns of Court in London and has a history dating back to the 14th Century! Established as a legal institution and professional association for barristers, Middle Temple played a crucial role in shaping the English legal system.
Founded around the year 1320, its name derives from the Knights Templar, who originally owned the land. Throughout its history, Middle Temple has been a hub for legal education, training, and networking among barristers, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to practice law effectively.
The Inn's stunning Elizabethan Hall, constructed in the late 16th century, stands as a testament to its enduring architectural heritage. It is said that William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night debuted in Hall. On the Focused Future course, a highlight is having a specially prepared lunch in the beautiful Hall.
Learning in such a beautiful space in London is one of the best bits of being a Focused Future student, and it is an experience you won’t forget.
